I hope you’d dance
As This moment feels so right
And I want to hold you with all my might
The way your heart beats
The way you pull me close
Makes me want to ride a shooting star
That’s right, baby, you are my star
I want you to save that smile,
And it makes me break into a smile
I hope you’d dance
As this is the perfect night
Let me touch you
the way you want to be touched
Let me touch you
The way I want to be scorched
Tonight will be the night
And there will be no holding back.
Oh! Yeah!
I want you to save your smile,
As it makes me break into a smile

I lie down on the gym class floor
My eyes get teary as look above
The room is acrid, and I know
Yes,I know that I ain’t alone
I see them everywhere
I could never be alone
But I know I know I’m alone
Even though I see you there
Then,
I hear Jamelia sing
“What a girl like me to do?”
I do what you do,
I did what you didn’t
And I know I did better than you
And I ain’t any gym class hero.
After all, in the end,
I’m just a girl
Who is doing what you do
Wanting just a little more
Just little more of a whole lot more
So that you may see
This is all for you
And it has always been only
About you..
Note:
There are moments in life, when you feel like a super star and there are times when you feel like trash. However, only in moments like these, the creative genius in us is at best. These two short poems were written in such moments. The first poem was written when I was listening to Bryan Adam’s ‘Don’t let go’ and the song makes me feel good all the time. I decided cease that romantic energy and convert it into urban poetry. The second poem came into being as I was lying down on the gym floor, feeling tired and completely worn out. The floor was filled with men, some of them I knew and most of them I didn’t and in the corner of my eye I saw the guy I have been having an eye on in recent times. And in that instant I realized that no matter, what I do would might never get his attention. But that is another story..
